A nod comes from the tall ghastly man with a mob of black hair. He folds his arms behind his back as he waits patiently. Then, his diamond like eyes focus in on the note once again.

"I am Morpheus, Lord of Dreams. I know the names of all who come to realm... and humans spend much of their lives in my realm." Morpheus says it as if it should be rather obvious. "The plague?"

What has he missed in his time of imprisonment? As he has spent time rebuilding the Dreaming?

"Forgive me... you will need time to answer such questions."

Nick frowns and gestures at the empty town around him. Another note is hastily scribbled down. The plague that wiped out most of humanity?

If humans spend time in your realm haven't you noticed a sudden downturn?

Probably not wise to crack sarcastic at a creature like Dream but Nick is wound a bit tightly after the last couple of weeks.

Morpheus falls quiet at that. Either this is a separate Earth... or it is a nightmare. There is no path in which death on this scale would happen without his sister mentioning it to the rest of the family.

"No. The Dreaming remains as it has ever." He half turns to look at the area around them, his long black coat dusting at his ankles. "Has it crossed your mind, Nick Andros, that perhaps this is not reality as it would be for you?"

Nick wouldn't argue the assessment that he was living in a nightmare. He flips the notepad to a fresh page, waiting for the man to stand and survey the little park and the very empty town.

Not reality?
He frowns and considers, shaking his head before he writes again. I don't understand. What do you mean not my reality?

"Simple. That you are stuck in a dream." Morpheus crosses his arms over his chest. "Or perhaps stuck in someone else's nightmare."

Stuck in a dream.
The idea doesn't seem as crazy after the last two months and watching so many people sicken and die around him while he felt fine, waiting for the day that he woke with a cough or fever.

My money is on nightmare.
How do I get out?

"There are several ways to end a nightmare. This one I have my doubts that simply waking from will aid you." He turned to look over the town. "We must find what has induced such a dream into your natural dreams. And, then, preferably eliminate it."
