[ So, Halloween. Jon used to like Halloween. He and Robb had pranked their siblings once, down in the crypts; Arya hadn't been fooled but Sansa had run off in tears, and it had felt good for five whole minutes despite being covered in flour. Until they got back in the house and Catelyn gave him an earful.

He drives carefully through the neighborhood, watching the kids already up and about, going from house to house. It's almost nostalgic, but even if the Wayne kids were actually into that sort of thing, they didn't have the time for that anymore. Not really. Not since that girl fell from the sky and set the future in motion, a future they apparently had to change or else they were all doomed.

He comes to a dead end, parking in front of an ominous-looking abandoned house; a most appropriate setting for a paranormal investigation, and the irony's not lost on him. Jesse is already waiting on the porch.

He opens the passenger seat window and calls out from the inside: ] You want your pumpkin spice now, or later?

[ Open to anything. Batfam AU’wise, this is her first Halloween! ]

[ Robb stands on the riverbank holding a small clump of flowers, staring at the running water with blue eyes that seemed to have frozen over. He never found her body, so he couldn't even bury her properly; all he knew was that it had been tossed carelessly into the water as one final insult, one final desecration.

I'll kill them all, he thinks, grief and anger and hatred coursing through his veins like poison. First his father, then his brothers, now his mother; if he'd been a weaker man he'd have just laid down and accepted his death like the rest of them. But he hadn't. Somehow, miraculously, he'd survived. He still doesn't quite remember what happened — had it been a gun? a knife? a grenade? — only that his mother had been screaming for mercy, screaming for him to walk away.

He tosses the flowers into the river and watches the current carry them away. A cold wind blows through the trees. Winter is coming. He hardly feels it.

Then he hears the howling of a wolf from somewhere behind him. A lamentation, a eulogy. He closes his eyes, seeking it out. ] Grey Wind, to me.

You don't know me, but it's important that I meet you.

[ There's silence for a while, and Aegon's not sure if the first message has been read or not, not wanting to tap it to see the little seen mark before he sends a follow up because stranger reaching out asking to meet him is weird, but he wants to give incentive. ]

It's about your mom.

[ There’s a soft sigh at that answer, because he should have known this wouldn’t be that easy. ]

Ned Stark wasn’t your father.

[ Okay now Jon is awake and on his laptop, trying to track the number down. ]

Who is this?

[ They've not had any leads on Ned's case in the past weeks. Now his father's name is being so casually mentioned by a stranger? ]

[ There’s no hiding the phone. Registered to an Aegon Snow, from a small rural town in the middle of no where. ]

Family.

Family that would better be explained in person. Name the place, your choice.

[ He’s hoping that will help Jon be at least a little comfortable in meeting him. ]

I usually don't do lattes.
That helps narrow things down.

[ Jesse looks up from the porch with a tight smile on her face. She gets the joke about pumpkin spice - and it is good - though she has the feeling the Waynes are going to run with it. Especially now with that Jane girl from the future.

Which is still hard to get her head around.

She stands up and gives a shrug. ]

Might as well have it now before we go inside.

Grey Wind. Now that's an interesting name.

[ Was John Constantine always there? Maybe.

Standing a few feet away, leaning against a tree that is near the river. His cigarette smokes as he looks up at the dull autumn sky. His accent obviously paints him as British. Distinctly so.

Leaves changing color, that distinct crisp to the air. Ah, the bloody solstice soon is going to be coming up soon. Everyone will be in a down right damn tizzy.

He nods to the forest out around them. ]
