THE RAINS OF CASTAMERE

BRUCE TOMAS WAYNE was born to LORD TOMAS AND LADY MARTHA WAYNE in Castamere Castle in the Westerlands. The Wayne House was the second most powerful house in the Westerlands due to wealth and mitigation of trade. Once built upon mining, the House turned to hunting and trade dealing and amassed riches over the generations.

Tomas and Martha had the intention of turning their wealth to helping the people in their lands, and the greater Westerlands. Tomas and Tytos Lannister would clash over this, with Tomas accusing the greater Lord of becoming numb to the suffering of his people, and being inept at taking care of them. The bonds between the Houses eventually collapses and led to the Wayne-Tarbeck Rebellion (261 AC). Tywin Lannister led the charge and was said to have destroyed both Houses. However, unknown to them, Maester Alfred had managed to hide the six year old Bruce as the Lannister forces broke into the castle. Despite the maester's best efforts, Bruce saw his parents slaughtered in front of him. Alfred took him through the oldest passageways of the castle, infested with bats, and giving the boy the fear of them for some time.

Taken to another house for sympathy and being hidden, Bruce went under the guise of several names as he grew up. However, he never forgot the night in Castamere Castle. As he aged, he would change his thoughts from revenge to justice as he began to understand what his parents had fought for. Tywin Lannister was ruthless to the people around him, and in Bruce's eyes, truly no different than King Aerys Targareyn himself. He would cross the ocean and learn from assassins how to fight and how to strike, but Bruce made the promise he would never kill. He would simply break the world to its knees so that justice could be served and the people would rise against the tyrants.

Bruce would return to the Westerlands in his early twenties. Underneath the nose of the Lannisters, he and Alfred cleared and concealed the underground halls and passageways of Castamere Castle. Bruce donned the guise of a bat, deciding to turn his fear onto those that tormented others, and began a twenty-year long campaign of terrorizing the Lannister forces. One instance even brought him to Casterly Rock where he encountered a younger Cersei Lannister under the guise of the Bat. He left her unharmed, but incapacitated several soldiers and disappeared out a window.

The Bat of Castamere would strike harder and more frequently during Robert's Rebellion. However, he became more of an ghost story and a threat among the Lannister soldiers once Eddard Stark became king.

In 303 AC, Bruce Wayne made his appearance to the Iron Throne to seek the formal reclaiming of his homeland, freedom of the Lannister banner for his house, and a seat to the Council.
