[ He can recall seeing how the Hiss Invasion rattled so many of his squad mates. Other Rangers. Other members of the Buearu. How having to put down someone they just called friend less than twelve hours before hand twisted them. He can recall how seeing some Rangers couldn't handle coming back through thresholds. How some never came back as themselves.

He refused to leave Faden's side--as long as something didn't keep him from it--since he saw her clean out the Atlas Chamber. Her and that resonance that followed her cleaned through the Oldest House. He knows it taxed her. He knows the secrets she found haunted her on some level. Especially when she had found her lost brother.

Especially when she had to navigate through what Investigations had done to Hartman. What the man did to himself. What Investigations found. He imagines, though, that's the Director's story to tell.

He instead decides to let Alan set the pace and questions. ]
