[ Jesse sits up straight in order to go back to eating. If anything, it may encourage Alan to do so as well. Not that she expects him to eat the entire plate. Him eating any of it means more than the world to her right now. He'll be able to sleep, and with more sleep, his mind will heal as well. It's a huge step in her mind. ]
I wouldn't know what to do with a world like that. [ She fall silent for a moment. She turns the fork in her hand. ] This... it's always been this way for me. Ever since Ordinary. The world being simpler? It made no sense.

That's where we're different. You had a normal less complicated life. You got married, had a career... everything before the Dark Presence found you. That's where we're different. [ « Is it too different? Will that keep us from... not that it matters. Marriage? He wouldn't marry me. That's fine. Living with him is enough. » ] It took me my whole life to find the Bureau. Finding a place that I belong with how the world is. I wouldn't trade that.
