[ there are a lot of things caroline likes about being a vampire, the advanced senses, the speed, the strength... but then there was the whole being dead thing, that she wasn't going to be able to have a normal life. that she'd never get a chance to fall in love or get married or have children. and the fact she had been murdered and turned to send a message to someone. the message had worked, briefly. but then they had all moved on and caroline had been left with this ...curse. and she had to pretend like everything was normal, even if she was aching to get revenge. because being turned had undone any magic that had been done on her before and memories of being used and fed on by other vampires had come flooding back. she had been nothing but a blood bag and a warm body to one in particular, something for that vampire to take out his aggression on. and now that they were on more equal footing, caroline wanted him to pay for what he had done to her. especially since for all she knew he could have moved on to someone else and was doing the same thing to her. but she was a new vampire and wasn't strong enough yet. and salvatore was too close to dracula for her to do anything.

learning to control her new abilities hadn't been easy and neither had feeding on animals (picking fur from her teeth was disgusting) but it was better than the alternative. she had only fed on humans during a fight, when she had to subdue them. so far she had managed to keep the fact she was a vampire a secret from most of her friends and family. it hadn't been easy, especially when she had found out her own mother was a vampire hunter. what would her mom do if she knew the truth? honestly, caroline didn't want to find out. her mom was her only real family, even if they rarely got along, she couldn't bear to think of the look in her mom's eyes if she knew.

if she knew that caroline was a monster. because that's what she was, wasn't she? a creature of the night, a nightmare who fed on the living. and she hated herself for it. it bubbled with all her other insecurities and made her even more neurotic.

trevor knows she is a vampire. which makes her wonder if he hates her too. wasn't fighting vampires his thing? she wouldn't blame him if he did, she hated them too. after being a vampire's plaything for so long it was hard not too. and then there was the whole thing with dracula wanting to take over europe? which she doesn't really understand. what would be the point in taking over? but at the same time she trusts him. at least there is someone in the village she doesn't have to pretend around. and they both had a common enough enemey, even if caroline was more focused on salvatore than dracula.

and on nights like tonight - all hallows eve it was nice to not be alone. especially when everyone else in the village was celebrating, it made caroline realize how much she missed that. but it was a life she couldn't go back to now. ]

So are other vampires more active on Hallows Eve? Like, the stories they tell to scare us as kids about tonight... are they real?
