[ Even though a lot of his thoughts are focused on the situation he's dealing with, he does notice how her expression changes and how her shoulders sag. If he was feeling more like himself, he'd make some comment about how she actually expressed some feeling then, but he isn't, and maybe that comment would get him in trouble. That, or she'd just leave. Either way. ]
It sucks, doesn't it? I know it's not the same; Goose wasn't my brother, but he was the closest thing I had. [ And he thinks of him that way, but they weren't related, not like actual brothers. ] Maybe I don't want to move anywhere. [ Can't or won't? He's not sure there's much of a difference. ]

Letting people in really isn't her strong suit, and trusting people hasn't gotten her very far either. She tried once... twice. There's a reason she doesn't stay in one place long. ]
