[ Such things are not best spoken of in public. While they have peace with the dravanians? He would not cause a moment of panic for those in the city. His footsteps are light through the snow dust covered streets despite the gravity of his missions.
He wonders what events the politicians are aware of. Truly, Aymeric had only the detailed knowledge he did due to the covert nature of their mission he had tasked them with. The creation of a primal by Nidhogg's eyes may yet be from his knowledge. He and only been made aware of it due to the connection he has with what essence remains of the wrym. That and mutual worried parties of dravanian nature.
Estinien closes his eyes in thought. How much, he wonders, will Nidhogg's rage linger yet on their star? ]
I would not think of turning down the hospitality of the Lord Speaker and being made a mockery more than I surely am. [ He scoffs gently and motions for Aymeric to step into his home first.
The ancestral home of the Borels is as he remembered it... mostly. There are a few additions that Aymeric himself has mostly added. A pot of whitw lilies stands on the table beside the entryway that causes an eyebrow to raise. The flower reminds him of a certain person and her sister, but he would not dare to presume such things. Even if it remains obvious of how the Lord Speaker's face lights up when said persons are present.
He places his new lance against the wall and nods to the Steward who comes to greet them. Then, he sees fit to take himself to the seating room. What point is there in manners when these people have known him his entire life?
Then, once they are in the room he crosses his arms. ] I suppose I ought to indulge your curiosity first. Ask your questions.
no subject
[ But he inclines his head to indicate his understanding. ] If anyone understands obligations, it would be the two of us.
[ He might not know every detail of what is presently driving his friend's actions, but he will support him regardless.
As for the events that politicians are aware of, Aymeric tries his level best to be aware of everything that he can. The more knowledge that he has, the better. That is what he has long believed, that knowledge will help him better serve his people. But Estinien still may have the advantage over him, not that he will begrudge him for that for even a minute. ]
A mockery? [ He shakes his head, indicating his disagreement with and disagreement of that statement. But beyond that, he leaves it unremarked upon for the moment as he steps in through the doorway and into the entry.
Once they are in the sitting room, he takes a seat and gestures for his friend to do the same, if he is so inclined. ] Well, I suppose that what I wish to know first is where your steps have taken you thus far.
no subject
[ He has his doubts. Aymeric has ever been a dreamer, yet rarely does the man act upon those dreams.
A slight narrow of his eyes takes his face as he sits. Yes, a mockery. He cannot imagine that the people of Ishgard would be kind in judgements lofted to him. He foolishly gave Nidhogg a body to possess and terrorize them all once again. The victory of a new path forward is credited to Aymeric and he would have it no other way. ]
North, to the dragons. I took to Sohr Khai to pay respects. [ And to apologize for his ancestors, though that detail remains unsaid. ] There I encountered Hraesvelgr. What little of Nidhogg remains allows me to sense the great wryms. [ A hand raises to dismiss his friend's worry. ] The armor is no less gifted and more entrusted to me; a relic of the ages in which our ancestors did battle alongside the dragons.
In so many words, I am to take the battlefield once more. To the east, as I have said. You no doubt have had numerous reports of the primal summoned at the Wall. What your reports may have neglected to say is that the primal was summoned using what aether remained in Nidhogg's eyes. I sensed it, even with the distance between our lands and the Wall to Ala Mhigo.
[ His arms cross in thought.] A primal would mean that is where our pair of friends and their colleagues have gone.
no subject
[ He shakes his head again. ] There might have been a time when I could have journeyed forth from Ishgard, even briefly, but now- My duties have not ended. In a way, you might say they have increased.
[ Noting that look on his friend's face, and guessing at what may be causing it, he adds: ] While I am still present, anyone who dares speak ill of you will have me to contend with. For what happened was not wholly your doing, and what is more, it was Nidhogg's wrath and desire to continue prolonging both a grudge and a war that led him to do what he did.
[ He will argue on his friend's behalf until he runs out of breath if he has to. That much is plain to him even as he falls silent to listen to Estinien's description of what he has been doing and will do next. ]
I see. [ He is well aware that Estinien has his own brand of nobility, of respect, and his words are proof of that. ] You spoke with Hraesvelgr? [ He recalls his own meeting with the great wyrm, an encounter that remains emblazoned i his mind. ]
The reports have come to me, yes. I hope that as you journey forth, you remain safe, my friend. [ He cannot bear to think of losing him permanently this time; what happened with Nidhogg was difficult enough for all of them, Estinien included. To even briefly ponder his friend's death is enough to render him speechless. ]
Would that my duties gave me leave to accompany you, even briefly. [ And, of course, to be alongside his betrothed and her sister, not that Estinien will know of that particular change in Alkaid's status just yet. ]
no subject
Sulking does not become a politician, Aymeric. [ The comment is gentle muttering. No doubt his friend will understand its meaning. ] For your own bloody sake? Take the opportunity when it next rises. Do not enslave yourself to duty as I had revenge. You cannot always wait for an opportunity to present itself. Sometimes one must force their hand to make fate comply.
Hmph, would they listen? I think not. [ Still, there is a gentle look in his eyes that compliments the comment he gave but moments before. Appreciation. Aymeric is a good man, and he is all too glad the darker sides of the world have not swallowed him whole yet. ] Unexpectedly. The wyrm would rather his solitude. I do not think he would so candidly answer any hails that we might give.
[ His eys close in thought. ] I doubt much aether remains in those eyes after summoning such a beast. They will be destroyed this time, and put an end to this long lasting line of misery and hate.
Beyond that, the dragons would have me see. to any still affected by Nidhogg's song. One way or another. So, to the east I travel to seek remnants of our war.
[ A shrug. ] And what of you? Surely the new set of paperwork has not changed you as much as you claim.
no subject
Who said that I was sulking? [ He gives a small chuckle, knowing what his friend means by that. ] I will make no promises, because neither will I abandon Ishgard or my responsibilities for a lark. [ He is certain those words will hardly please Estinien, but he knows his duty, and he remains convinced that his duty must come before his personal desires. ]
Perhaps not, but what sort of friend would I be if I did not at least attempt to forestall those who would judge you unfairly? None of us are without faults or past errors, and so I see no reason why any one of us should feel as though they can look down upon you. [ And, really, even though he is fully aware that his position is biased, he does not see what transpired with Nidhogg as entirely Estinien's fault. Others will see it that way, of course. He is not naive enough to think otherwise. ] And that, too, is understandable. Interactions with others not his kin and kind have not been all that positive, regrettably.
[ Aside from a few interactions, of course, but on the whole, he is certain that Hraesvelgr and others do not look upon them with a very favorable eye. ]
I know that you will take care as you always do, but perhaps you should have assistance with this endeavor. [ Yes, he is worrying about him once again, although he never truly stops. ]
Changed me? [ He laughs once more. ] I do not think that it has, although it seems my responsibilities have more to do with diplomacy and mediation than giving orders for battle and defense.
[ And then, in hopes of injecting some levity at his expense into this conversation, he adds: ] I am certain that some would say I have become considerably stodgier since assuming the position of Lord Speaker. I suppose I will have to endure the fate of becoming a dull politician before my responsibilities are concluded for good.
no subject
A lark is quite different from a visit to a faraway land. It would do you good to see the sister city-states. How else are you to understand our new allies? [ He shakes his head. ] Being with the Scions in meetings is one thing. Traveling with them and seeing the world from their eyes? That will open your eyes more than anything else in this world. It would do you good and you ought to.
[ Who would think that he would argue for the benefit of the Scions? Hmph. Things must truly change. ]
Should I come across the Scions in my travels? I might ask for their aid.
[ His gaze narrows. Aymeric has never been one to be coy, but he certainly will dance around matters that are close to his heart. Estinien believes he has embodied too much of their home city into his person. Hard stone walls to seal himself away, yet he wishes to be amongt people. ]
Do not be coy, Aymeric. There is something that has made you aglow that has nothing to do with politics. One could not enjoy the position of Lord Speaker that much. It is clear you wish to tell me something, so, out with it.
no subject
I know that you are right, but it is a matter of finding a moment to leave, even temporarily. I have no doubt that Ishgard's affairs will be well managed should I leave for such a visit; that is not what gives me pause. [ He is certain that there are those within the city upon whom he can rely to keep things running as smoothly as possible. Lucia is one, Count Edmont and Lord Artoirel are others... It seems as though his workload is not about to lighten anytime soon, and that is what concerns him. ] I would welcome the opportunity to travel alongside the Scions, but I do not see that opportunity presenting itself. [ And that is something that is causing more than one twinge of regret, even though it cannot be helped. ]
Good. I hope that you do that, should your paths cross.
[ When Estinien plainly addresses him, saying that he is being coy, Aymeric's eyebrows lift as he tries, mostly in vain, to stifle a wide smile. ] I suppose that I should have known better than to conceal anything from you, Estinien.
[ Still, he can't help but add in one more small tease. ] I will say that I do very much enjoy that position and the work that comes with it. [ He knows better than to tease Estinien too much, but sometimes, it is hard to resist. ]
Out with it? Very well. [ Now, he abandons the attempt to hide his smile, letting it grow as wide as it will. ] I am- Well, to put it simply, I am engaged. Betrothed, if you will.
no subject
Or, as I had said, you force the hand of fate. Put yourself forward for a few days of rest. I doubt any here would frown upon the notion for you. [ He is aware that his point will matter little. Once Aymeric has made a decision then he keeps to it. Unless facts and circumstances demand he changes it. ] But, chain yourself as much as you see fit. I doubt Hydaelyn Herself would change your mind.
Hm. Hopefully our paths will keep to themselves. Although, I very much doubt that.
[ Estinien would not see himself indebted to the Scions more than he already is; the little lordling especially. No doubt they would say there is no debt, but he sees it different. They saved his very soul when it would have been wiser to kill him. ]
Of course. Your family is naught else but politicians and soldiers. One would think it madness if you were not in love with the notion of serving Ishgard in such ways. Both ways, in fact.
[ The admittance makes his eyebrows shoot up. Had he been drinking anything? It would of--as politely as possible--ended back up in the cup. He falls quiet a moment as his mind jumps from name to face to discern who caught his best friend's eye.
Although, in truth, it is not hard to narrow it down. Only one person that he has seen makes Aymeric's mood shift to something brighter. Someone, who as he recalls, has an affinity to lillies. ]
While you turn the eye of many women, not many can say the same in reverse. Why is your engagement in such secrecy?
no subject
I suppose that I could request for a few days of leave from my duties. Surely nothing too dire would transpire in my absence. [ It is still difficult for him to fathom such a thing, because he has spent so long making his sole priority his work and his responsibilities. Having any amount of leisure time is something he cannot begin to imagine. ] I cannot promise anything, but if nothing else, I will take your words to heart and ponder them, my friend.
[ They both know how much of Aymeric's time is given over to pondering various things, most of which are related to his duties. Of late, however, that has shifted and he has found himself pondering other matters of a more personal nature. ]
I would not see you be made uncomfortable by dealings you find undesirable, but I believe that you and the Scions might come to find some common ground. [ He likes to think that there is a foundation already being built, although it is a tenuous one. A certain young lordling is responsible for that. ]
I suppose that one could say that is my heritage and my inheritance. [ And he has largely been resigned to that being his lot in life. It has never chafed, nor has he ever felt discontent with it, but with the advent of certain happenings, he has begun to wish that things could be just a little bit different. ]
It is not a secret, not entirely. We have simply decided not to make too public a scene about it as yet. Simply put, both she and I have our own duties that must be seen to, and her own affairs take her far from Ishgard for great lengths of time.
[ He lets out a small sigh of something that could be construed as a reluctant sort of resignation. Duty cannot and should not be put to the side, and the duty that his betrothed has is far more significant than his own. ]
Until such time as we can find a reprieve from our duties, it seems prudent for us to keep the news to ourselves. But there are few others whom I trust as much as you, so I see no reason why I should not tell you all, if you desire to know.
[ Some of the more personal aspects, he will keep to himself, but there is very little that he would withhold from his old friend. ]
no subject
I am certain we would find common ground. That does not mean I would wish to be in their service or roped into their doings. [ A shake of his head follows the statement. No, he would prefer to live his life wandering and seeing much of what he has not been able to. There are many grievances he must make up for in his own right. ] You would have followed the example of the Borels at some point, Aymeric.
[ His face falls back into its typical stoic nature as he listens to Aymeric speak. The way the frustration shows and the rather vague nature all but confirms in his mind who it is that he is betrothed to. A fine fit in his mind, yet he imagines it must be harder than either would let on. Who knows where the Warriors of Light are in this moment, and that no doubt is eating at his friend's heart. He is used to knowing who is where and what they are doing as reports filter in through the day.
Estinien closes his eyes as he sorts for the best way to find what it is he would say on this matter. The easiest path to say he knows who it is the Lord Speaker has offered his hand to without saying her name directly. Again, it was hardly difficult to deduce after spending as much time as he has with either party. Aymeric would practically glow whenever the Warrior of Lights were near, and his eyes would fall to one in particular. If it had not been for that? Well, the lilies in the parlor were certainly a give away. ]
It must be difficult for you, my friend. You are used to reports daily of where each piece of Ishgard movies and her soldiers. I cannot imagine the worry and frustration you must have being unable to ascertain just where beyond Baelsar's Wall she currently is. [ One eye opens with a smirk touching the corners of his face. ] Finding a lily in the Far East would not be difficult for the right people.
no subject
[ He is more inclined to ponder and dwell on things than his friend is. Of the two of them, Estinien is more likely to act directly and decisively, while Aymeric is inclined to take longer and think things over before taking action. ]
Indeed, any interactions you have with them will be on your terms, as you have always been. [ Aside from those harrowing times when Estininen was not in control of himself, but Aymeric is reluctant to think upon those times any more than he already has. ] And of course, you are correct in saying that.
[ He could not be happier, but no small amount of their shared happiness was tempered by the fact that a new threat had risen up just as they entered into their arrangement, not to mention the new position to which he had been raised. Of course, neither of them were inclined to shirk from their respective duties, but he is certain that having to put a pause on their wedding was, and still remains, hard for both of them.
Still, he does his best to soldier on and not allow his thoughts to wander too far, lest he become morose and unfocused on his duties. ]
Well, it certainly is not easy, but what is there to be done about it? However much I would like to have reports concerning her whereabouts and position, I would not risk jeopardizing the mission and her safety and the safety of the Scions.
[ He does not have all the details concerning what it is they are doing, but that only makes sense. This does not fall under the jurisdiction of Ishgard, and so he is not entitled to information about their movements or their goals.
Tilting his head to one side, he gives his friend a questioning glance. ]
I can see no reason why your own goals would lead you to the Far East. [ He would not ask him to do that, because doing so feels like the height of selfishness to him. ]
no subject
[ He feels indebted to the Scions enough as it is. The Warriors of Light and the little lordling together saved him. A life debt is enough of one to repay. Still, he is certain that if they had true need of him, he would answer their call, despite himself. He is not keen to call many his friends... yet he would certainly call them some form of the word indeed. ]
You never were one to take the easy way. Yet, I am certain many would have felt you ought to have done so when it comes to romance and marraige. [ Estinien shakes his head at that. ] Only you would fall in love with a woman that would be as bound to duty as you are.
[ He is not blind. For him, it is easy to tell how much the lack of knowledge eats at Aymeric. He was involved in every step of the way on their path to ending the War with Nidhogg. Now, he remains in the dark, with no idea where his woman might be or what danger he faces. Estinien cannot say he envies Aymeric in this regard. ]
I have been asked to find a dragon that fled after the events of Nidhogg's song. She left in an attempt to escape. Now, they fear that she has fallen to it in the end. She flew to the Far East, or in that ambiguous direction. [ He shakes his head. ] As I had said, it would not be hard to find a lily...
[ His head turns to the door as it opens. The ever faithful House Borel Steward stands present, bowing slightly at the intrusion. Estinien rolls his eyes at the sight of such formality between family. Thank Halone he was never highborne. ]
Ser Borel, Ser Varlineau, pray forgive the intrusion. A visitor has come in search for the head of house.
A visitor? My, the House Speaker truly is the talk of the city.
no subject
[ But he knows that is not a viable solution, not for all that he must deal with. ]
As usual, you are not wrong. But one can hardly help where one's affections land, is that not so? [ He might have held an interest in Alkaid since the moment he met her, but he never dared dream that she might return that interest, let alone consent to be his wife. ] I cannot help but wonder what it is that led her to agree to joining in a union with me. [ Now more than ever, he wonders how she could love him as much as she does, what with all his thorny issues and deep-seated traumas. ]
Ah, I see. [ He ponders this latest bit of information, wondering just how far Estinien's path will take him, and hoping that he remains safe and well along the way. ] I hope that you find this dragon whole and well, and that she is able to return home. [ He casts his gaze downward as his thoughts travel once more to Alkaid, who must certainly be far away by now. Something akin to longing causes his heart to clench, but as he has stated both aloud and inwardly many times before, there is nothing to be done about it. Perhaps he will pen a letter to her when he has a moment, but perhaps it is better if he refrains so as to avoid distracting her from whatever her mission might be.
Nevertheless, Estinien does not need to be burdened with his worries, and so he is quick to straighten up once more, just in time for the steward to make his entrance. ]
A visitor? [ He echoes Estinien's words, wondering who could possibly come looking for him here. Most often, he is sought for elsewhere, usually in his new offices, but it must be significant to be looked for at his home. ] I do not often receive visitors here, so it must be of great importance. [ He casts a somewhat confused look in Estinien's direction before returning his attention to the steward. ]
Please, show them in.
no subject
[ There is no doubt in his mind that Aymeric has seen his time of darker feelings as of late. It could not have been an easy decision to end the life of his father. Nor were the decisions afterwards easier. Perhaps, then, it should be no surprise that he grew closer to the Warriors of Light in that time.
Estinien watches the emotions dance around the face of his dearest--perhaps only--friend. While not clear to others who do not know him as well? He can tell how upset Aymeric is. The temporary parting between him and his betrothed must be eating at him more than he would admit to even himself.
The dragoon sits proper in case the visitor is one of state importance. The Stewart eyes them both before sighing and stepping to the side. A moment later a moogle with a carrier hat and bag arrives. ]
...a moogle?
[ The moogle turns his head and bristles his wings. ] What's that with a moogle, kupo!? We moogles at Mognet strive to be the best couriers to Eorzea and beyond!
[ Estinien turns to look at Aymeric with his eyes wide.
A moogle mail delivery service.
What is this world coming to? ]
no subject
[ But his friend is not wrong in his suppositions either; Aymeric has had some dark days and darker nights of late, and they would have been darker still if not for a pair of sisters who brought peace and light along with them.
Perhaps that is one reason why he has thrown himself so wholeheartedly into his work once more. To have his days filled with reports and other responsibilities leaves him little time to think about how much he misses them, especially the one to whom he hopes to be married one day soon. And if, when he returns home and is completely exhausted after a long day, so much the better.
He does not wish for time to think too much, either while he is awake or when he is asleep and dreaming. ]
Have you not encountered moogles before, my friend? [ In spite of himself, he manages an amused smile, because he greatly likes the moogles, but he imagines that Estinien would be quite baffled by them. ] Friendly creatures, and useful as well.
[ He turns to give the delivery moogle a wide smile. ] I presume you come with a letter or other tidings. [ He expects it is some invitation or other missive of social importance. Of course he is obligated to come, because to do anything but would be seen as quite the social misstep. ]
no subject
Aye, I have. The moogles of Moghome were charged by Hraesvelgr. Had we not made contact with them, we would have never met with the great wrym. [ He turns his gaze back to the moogle. ] Being charged to protect the Zenith and being of a "mail network" are not the same.
Mognet has been based out of Gridania since the Seventh Umbral Calamity, kupo! We would be cousins to the moogles of Moghome. [ A paw raises in thought before the moogle's whole body sways side-to-side and a pleased sound echoes from it. Then, it glides over to the Lord Speaker and begins to ruffle around in its large bag. ] A letter for the Lord Speaker of the House of Lords, Lord Aymeric de Borel! Do all people in Ishgard have such long names, kupo?
Only those of nobility, the military, or of the Holy See. Ser Aymeric has the pleasure of listening to the other long named nobles debate about the laws of our city-state. [ He crosses his arms and smirks. ] He may yet garner more long titles.
[ The moogle spins the moment it pulls a letter from his bag, and wiggles inexcitement once more. ]
I'll make certain to remember, kupo! The other moogles implied more letters may come. [ With a nod, the Moogle extends the letter to Aymeric.
The letter itself seems as if it has certainly seen some amount of travel. While not damaged, the envelope has browned in ways. The envelope itself also does not seem to be of Eorzea. Instead of being addressed by a name, the front has a drawn image of the sigil of House Borel. On the other side, the envelope is sealed by a small amount of wax imprinted by a lily design. ]
no subject
At times, he wonders if there is more going on beneath his friend's placid expression, but he has decided that it is better for Estinien to decide on his own terms when to talk about certain subjects than if he pushed him to open up about things that might be troubling him. ]
I suppose they are not the same, but both involve no small measure of responsibility. [ At least, that is Aymeric's observation based on the brief exchange between Estinien and their moogle visitor. Truthfully, he still has a lot to learn about the doings of moogles and their history, and if he had ample time to devote to the subject, he would certainly endeavor to educate himself. ]
If it is easier for you, simply Aymeric will suffice. [ There is a time and place for the use of titles, but he sees no reason for that in this present moment. ] I certainly hope that I do not garner any further titles, or I will have to use even more ink than I already do when penning missives and signing documents.
[ The notion makes him smile and give an amused sort of laugh. ] More letters, you say?
[ He takes the offered letter, giving the envelope a careful looking over, and it is not until he sees the lil seal that he realizes just who has sent this to him. ]
I certainly hope that I shall receive more of these letters. [ But at the same time, he will not be waiting up for them, given the responsibilities of the one who sent said letter. Hoping for them, yes. Expecting their regular arrival? Not quite.
A thought occurs to him then, and he asks: ]
I imagine you must have quite the journey ahead of you, so with that in mind, do you require anything before you leave?
no subject
We intend to extend Mognet into Ishgard! Now that the city is apart of the Alliance, we have plenty of mail that we could deliver to and from! Although, the logistics are still being planned... Mognet is not just Moogles, after all! [ The postmoogle nods. ] I will make sure to keep an eye out for any letters addressed to you, kupo! The other Moogles were insistent that you were to be the recipient, even with no name or address...
I would imagine the one who sent it to him wishes it to remain anon. Or, at least, anon to those that may look upon it. Ser Aymeric handles rather covert and secret messages from time to time. [ He gives a knowing smirk. Their excursion into the Churning Mists to contact the dragons had been Aymeric's idea in the end. ] I am certain he will receive more of them.
[ The moogle nods, spinning in place as their customary movement. Then, it turns back to Aymeric. ] If you have a warm drink, that will do! I hadn't realized how cold Ishgard is...
no subject
If that truly is your intention, then consider anything that I can do to assist at your disposal. Because I can only imagine how much of an added benefit having the post services available would be. [ With Ishgard now being open to the outside world once more, Aymeric is certain that it would be quite useful indeed to have the lines of communication open in such a way. Of course, they managed without the use of Moogles and Mognet, but then again, Ishgard was closed off for such a long time. He cannot help but feel that this is a step in the right direction for Ishgard and the people. ]
Ser Estinien would be correct in his suppositions. And I imagine that the one who sent it also is engaged in covert operations and would not have their actions compromised.
But yes, if a warm drink is what you require, then you shall have it. [ The steward is, as always, nearby and he makes his approach, sensing that Aymeric has need of him. ]
Would you see to procuring a warm drink for our friend here? He has quite a journey ahead of him.
[ The steward nods, offers a bow to the moogle, and before too many minutes have passed, returns with a hot drink in hand. He extends it to the moogle, before deciding that perhaps it might be easier if he set the drink on the nearest desk, feeling uncertain if the moogle's paws could safely hold said drink. At the very least, he thought that the moogle should decide for himself whether or not he could manage holding onto the offering. ]
no subject
The postmoogle nods. ] Once we are ready to set a permanent establishment, I will seek out your advice, kupo!
Ah, so soon, we might add "Postman" to your ever growing list of titles, Aymeric. [ A smug look passes his face at the notion. ] I am certain that some parties would find the notion quite amusing.
[ K'thisru, namely.
Estinien watches as the moogle flies over to the drink. A wiggle of his whole person is given in thanks before he lifts it to take a long drink. Estinien can do nothing but shake his head. It would seem moogles remain the same no matter where they hail from. ]
Hopefully you will here from us soon!
no subject
Well, I suppose that the more skills I have, the more useful I am. [ He offers a smile to the moogle and gives him a nod. ] I suppose that we might have some things that we can learn from each other.
[ He also finds taking lessons from a moogle amusing, but knowledge can be gained from all sorts. Having said that, he returns his attention to the letter that he received, and as he surveys it, he wonders if he ought to wait to read it. Estinien might be his old friend, but he still feels like he should continue playing the role of proper host. ]
Ah, I should have asked you as well, Estinien. Is there anything that you require as well?
no subject
Shall I leave you to read your leter on your own--or would you prefer the company to regale the tales to?
no subject
Oh, I most certainly would prefer to have company, even if I did not have a missive to read. You have been away from Ishgard for some time, so I am in no particular rush to end this conversation.
[ Of course, if Estinien says he has other places to be, then Aymeric will not detain him longer than necessary. ]
no subject
[ He idly wonders why their engagement has not been made public, but does not voice the question. The pair of them seem completely head over heels for one another--why would they not proclaim it loud enough to hear? Aymeric has always been one of a quiet man of personal affairs, yet, Estinien believes his best friend might burst at the seams if he does not dote on about it in some form. ]
