[ Other than the occasional passenger here and there, he didn't spend much time around Earth since this part of the galaxy wasn't his usual district. But he'd just been finishing up a drop-off in the area when his taxi had started acting funny, and it just happened to be the closest planet to land in.

He'd just managed to land the cab someplace that was hopefully out of sight, waiting while his Jack robot tried to fix what the issue was. He could probably call the cab company, but that could be more trouble than it was worth. Especially since it would have been difficult to keep humans from seeing an intergalactic tow, and from what he'd already seen of the terrestrial taxi cabs, flying space vehicles probably would not go well here.

...geez, how do people stand it? ]

I take it your cab has seen some better days.

[ Bruce Wayne steps up to the cab with a bit of a smirk on his face. Namely because who hides a cab in a alleyway? Usually, the Gothamite billionaire keeps to himself. However, he has learned that sometimes he needs to stick his neck out. Especially if it comes to the tumbling down of various multiverses, realities, or just galactic travel.

He nods to the cab. ]

Most people don't hide away in an alleyway.

[ He can't help but jump, startled at being caught. As he turns around he gives a sheepish laugh. ]

Ahaha...uh...well, I'm just, uh...trying to keep out of sight while I fix it up. Don't want people to get their hopes up while I'm not in service.

[ Which is all well and good. It's an interesting looking taxi, though. One without any wheels or anything. ]

I think they'd be able to tell by the wheels that it doesn't work, son.

[ Bruce simply nods to the state the taxi is in. He gives the younger man a knowing look. Not that he knows who or what he is, but it's obviously not from Earth. His Earth anyways. ]

[ He chuckles nervously, his hat tipped a bit as he scratches the side of his head. ]

R-Right, of course. I just, uh...

[ Nnnnnnope he's got nothing. ]

[ Bruce shakes his head now. His hands slide into the pockets of the big jacket he wears as he looks the car over once more. Then, he finally turns to look at him. ]

I'm going to guess you're not from around here. As in Earth. My, Earth, anyways. So, let's just get the awkwardness out of the way. [ He extends his hand. ] Bruce Wayne.

[ He should probably keep denying it, but this man clearly already knows, so it doesn't seem to make much of a difference. Hesitantly, he accepts the hand. ]

People just call me Cabbie. [ At least this way, he probably won't get in trouble with the cab company...unless they get his cab number somehow. ]

It's a bit of a direct relation, isn't it, son? [ Cabbie, cab. Lord. ] What brings you here?

[ He chuckles faintly, not commenting on the first part as he turns and gestures to his cab. ] Well, my cab did actually down, so I had to make a quick landing. [ Landing? ] My Jack is taking a look at it right now, but I might need to call into the company.

[ There's some beeping noise from under the taxi, and Cabbie runs a hand down his face. ]

And you get reception to your company from this.... planet?

[ He's just taking a guess here. It really doesn't look like a normal cab. Besides, aliens exist. Other worlds, planets, races, creeds. ]

[ He nods, reaching into his pocket and pulling out his phone. ] Sure. It's intergalactic coverage.

[ No point in trying to hide it now. ]

...Intergalactic. [ He doesn't sound surprised or worried. Just, passive about it. ] I'm guessing you take more trips here than we'd know. Or at least, your company.

No one bothered to tell you to avoid Earth with an impending invasion on our doorstep?

Pretty much. This planet is actually pretty remote, so there are lots of people that like to come here for a vacation.

[ One might actually be surprised how many aliens visit Earth. ]

An invasion? From who?

[ Bruce crosses his arms at that. So, it must not be galactic news then? Interesting. He wonders just how connected the universe is with one another. Earth as a vacation spot... huh. He wouldn't say it's the best place. ]

I suppose Darkseid doesn't ring a bell.

[ Cabbie stills a bit, sucking in a breath. ]

Ohhhhh no, I know about Darkseid. He's not a frequent customer, but he's used our services when his boom tubes aren't working. Pretty bad guy, but he tips well.

[ Look, guy's gotta make a living. ]

Why would he want to invade this planet, though?

You let Darkseid use your services? Do you know how dangerous that is to other people on other planets? He's a conquer!

[ Bruce sighs in frustration. How naive can this company be? No, not naive. Just out to make money wherever they can. Neutrality. ]

He's looking for something.

I know! But we're not supposed to discriminate! He's still a paying customer.

[ Look he knows that. But he's just a cab driver, what's he supposed to do? ]

What could he be looking for here?

[ A paying customer. The expression is clear on his face: You'd take his money? Still, neutrality. Business. Who knows what trouble they'd be in if they didn't service Darkseid and his minions. ]

Something that he hasn't been able to find for eons. I'm not sure if it's wise to tell. Just in case they pressure you and your company.

[ Guess, Cabbie. Just guess. ]

[ Look, man, it's not up to him. He's just a cog in the system. ]

I mean, it'd only be trouble for us if we had it.

[ He really has no idea. ]

The key to everything.

[ It's vague enough. The kid seems like a good sport. If Bruce can avoid the kid being pulled into this crazy insane war against Darkseid? He will. ]

Key to everything? [ He's still not entirely sure what that is, but it doesn't sound good. ] It definitely sounds like trouble if he gets his hands on it.

[ He may work for a company that would transport villains, but he still has a sense of morals. ]

We're talking about the removal of free will. It's definitely trouble, son.

[ Not that he's going to suggest maybe you don't give Darkseid a ride. But, he's going to suggest you don't give Darkseid a ride. ]

[ Honestly, he would if it was up to him. But company rules, and also he kind of doesn't want to die. However, the removal of free will is definitely enough to make him reconsider some things.

Not enough to not give Darkseid a ride, but probably take a scenic route to delay wherever he'd be going. ]

And it's for sure here? On this planet?

[ Not to mention employment would most likely be hard if you were terminated from the intergalactic taxi cab business. He can't imagine too many people would want to work with him after that. Things are never as simple as they seem. ]
