"Well, I certainly don't mind helping if it is needed. I'd rather that the Sanctuary be of aid as opposed to your team finding someone that is far from capable of handling it."

Helen wasn't entirely sure how deep the connections of Legends went, or exactly who they knew that would help. It certainly would not be something she would want any government involved in. She's worked extremely hard to keep as much government powers out of the work of Abnormals as possible. It is far from full proof, and they can't save all of them, but someones one is better than none.

She quietly slides from the table to sit comfortably next to him, even so much as crossing her legs so one dangles over his. Just as a way to say she has no intention of getting up any time soon and she'd prefer if he didn't either.

"I've no idea what you're talking about," at least she can play along.

The smile on her face falters for a second and her gaze drops. "If only it had been simply work tension."

Really, there's no reason to drag it out.

"Will had a conference planned and a lovely woman to meet - in his opinion." Helen shakes her head, still of the opinion that Will could do far better than her. "I had him cancel his appearance at the conference in order to join me on the trip. Which, admittedly, could have been done on my own or even with a contractor. But, in all honesty? I had needed Will here and simply had no idea how to ask him to stay for something that was entirely and utterly selfish."

She forces a sad smile. "The Tuesday that Will would have been gone was Ashley's birthday. The first since she passed on. The rest of my team was away as well. I... simply didn't want to be alone that day."

Rather much like now and decorating a Christmas tree.
