John was an arrogant and believed that he could easily save a young girl in Newcastle named Astra Logue. He took his group of friends/misfits/fellow musicians and mages to her home. His grand plan was to save Astra by summoning another demon to remove the demon plaguing her. The idea worked, however, John was not strong enough to bind the demon named Nergal. Nergal then ripped Astra to pieces and dragged her soul to Hell with him as payment.
The experience was so damaging that the "Newcastle Crew" broke up. John's mind was destroyed and he spent time in and out of the Ravenclaw Psychiatric Facility over the course of two years. His soul is also damned to Hell for costing the life of an innocent.

THREAD LINK: DAY 15 - 17
While staying at 1387 Phillips Drive, John witnessed the event of the Fog breaking into the house. He missed the phone call, and refused to open the door to the knocking. As such, when the Fog rushed him, John felt attacked. He attempted to use a spell to fight back, but eventually was asphyxiated in three minutes. He was found by Doc Holliday, Raylan Givens, and Malcolm Bright the next morning.
Upon his death, John witnessed Astra being tortured and remaining in captivity from Nergal. That alone has unnerved him more than his actual death and resurrection.

THREAD LINK: DAY 26
While leaving Town Hall for the day, John felt a call back to the building. Following voices he probably shouldn't have had, he felt the immediate need to start destroying part of the wall besides the Bulletin Board. Finding a letter opener, John began to pull at the wall as if possessed. He revealed spirals and the lights began to flicker.
Upon the lights coming back on, all John could see was red. And screams, so many screams...
