[ It takes a couple of seconds, and at first, it might look like Tony's just trying to move his jaw or something like that, but what he's actually trying to do is get enough motion going to mouth words. So maybe it's stupid, but in the absence of being able to talk, it's as good as it's going to get, right? How good are they at lip reading? I'm guessing not very.

So he decides to start small: Hi. It's not really the best greeting to give, not when Peter looks like a mess of a teenager who hasn't slept in days. And Tony knows what that looks like because he's done it, but in contrast, Peter looks like an absolute wreck. If Peter can figure out that he was saying hi, he'll mouth a few more words. Stop apologizing. You were busy. Or, well, it's as close to it as Tony can get. This whole mouthing words thing is stupid, but what else can he do right now?

He can't launch into full sentences as that would most likely get lost in translation, so Tony just listens as Peter stammers out his explanation of what he's been doing and why. But then at the question of whether or not the arc reactor turns on, Tony's mouth twitches and one side of it turns up like he wants to grin but can't fully control the movement. Still, he manages to mouth Duh... like Peter just answered his own question.

But it's not meant to be insulting or a criticism, just an attempt to express humor when he really can't express much of anything. You need sleep. For a week. Tony adds next, hoping again that the gist of what he's saying gets across to the two of them.

After that, Tony just watches Peter and Mermaid doing something, opening the box, maybe, and taking out the reactor that Peter made. At first, he can't really see it as Mermaid's hands are in the way, but then she leans down and holds the reactor in both hands close to his one good hand. He feels the surface of it and it feels like an arc reactor to him. The materials used to make it feel familiar. Then he watches Mermaid hold it up so that he can get a better view and he's quick to sweep his eyes (both of them) over it, looking for the key details of an arc reactor. Of course the schematics would have laid it all out, but everything is exactly where it should be.

Even in the state that he's in, Tony can see that clear as day.

He fixes Peter with the most pointed look that he can manage, which might not be saying much given he's still kind of foggy from the medication and from sleep and from trying to recover from something that should have killed him, but then he mouths three words: You did good.

If they're listening, they might even hear a slight sound as Tony mouths the word "good". It's not actually saying the word, but it's actually a recognizable attempt at a letter. And with that hovering in the air, he just looks at both Peter and Mermaid, wondering what they'll do next. ]
