They'd say he's too self-absorbed, too arrogant, and doesn't really care about people in the way that a partner should about their significant other. But Tony's more than some arrogant rich guy who looks at people as there for convenience. Sure, he might have moments like that, but that's not all he is. It's just hard to see it sometimes.
Right now, though, he's not Tony Stark, rich guy extraordinaire. He's just Tony. His thumb gently brushes over her fingers, almost as though he's not even thinking about it. Instinct is driving him now as it does most times. Well, there's times when he's laser focused, zeroed in, every move he's doing calculated and determined. Precise. Sometimes, though, instinct takes over the driver's seat. That doesn't mean he's checked out, but he's just reacting. Moving with intent and purpose, but it's all instinctual.
Maybe some would say there's no difference, but Tony knows the difference. ]
