Not that she'd claim to examine him or apply psychological terms. Both of them dislike shrinks. Still, she can't help but feel she hears the same sort of animosity coming from both men about the other. Both think each other is far from intelligent, where Alan goes an extra step and thinks Scratch is a monster. Jesse can't help but agree after everything she's seen.

The feigned look of sympathy never even catches her notice. Jesse instead raises her eyes and moves her gaze back to Scratch. She has to pretend to be moving to his side. It's the only way to keep him from the Clicker. The only reason he'd stay. ]
