[ She doesn't know exactly what this situation is. It feels like Bright Falls. Which means a story and manuscript pages. Which means certainty things having to happen. Maybe the ending isn't done this time or maybe it really is done. Maybe all Alan has to do is live through the events in hopes it brings him home. Maybe he interjecting into it has derailed the storyand ruined his chances.

Maybe, in the end, it doesn't matter because they're not supposed to be together.

That thought causes a flare of anger. How could it feel the way it does if they're not supposed to be more than passing allies? Why would there be a constant pull towards him? Like gravity swaying her over and then wanting her to spiral down until he's the only thing she can think about and feel?

« What if things don't want us together and that's why it's so damn hard? »

Jesse glances down once he stops in the doorway. A pressed frown appears at the corners of her mouth. Another tug of his hand.

He doesn't get to hesitate or question once he's put the offer down and she agreed. It's been two years. She misses him, he supposedly misses her. It shouldn't be that complicated. ]
