There's no way in hell that this is going to work.

[ Alan announces those words to the relative silence around him; he needs to talk to someone while he waits, or he's going to absolutely drive himself nutty. Well, nuttier. The pages disappear as he expected them to, and he hopes... prays they find their way to Jesse. If they don't, well, they might as well lie discarded in a gutter somewhere. That's how useful they are to anyone who isn't her.

He wonders what part of the page she's on, if she's reading them at all. Of course, he can't know, and he can't really venture an accurate guess, but he hopes he gets the timing right somehow anyway. If she finds the pages and follows the steps, her path will lead her to the Motel. And if she finds the motel, then she needs to find him there waiting for her.

But as luck would have it, she gets there first. She makes her way into the room before Alan can even step into the motel lobby. But honestly, he didn't expect this to work at all. He didn't think she'd be able to use what he wrote on the pages to get into the motel. Hell, he didn't think the pages would even reach her. But as he steps into the motel, he sees that the keys are gone from their spot on the desk.

He holds his breath as he walks up to the designated room and places his hand on the door's handle. It turns when he applies just the barest amount of pressure to it, and he pushes the door open. He doesn't walk into the room, choosing to just stand there in the doorway for a moment. He'll know in an instant if she's really in there or not, or if all of this was for nothing. Maybe the key wasn't picked up by her. Maybe it just disappeared, and the door's open because it's just unlocked to screw with him.

Stranger things have happened. ]
