Jesse would be lying if she said she wasn't afraid when the story takes back over. It's not that Alan changes as a person, but, she can tell when the story is blinding him. How it makes him make choices and decisions that she thinks he wouldn't normally do. Things she says can go straight over his head because the story doesn't allow him to hear it. That's just what she's seen in the last day or so.
