Yes, it is. [ Jesse presses against his forehead. They've survived their first night (again) against the Taken. They're both injured. It may not be the right time for such levity. Somewhere between light and dark of the situation seems to be the right area. ] Maybe. I think you just need to find that spark inside you again.

[ She feels Polaris shift in agreement. Even a shimmer appears. ]

And Polaris agrees. [ There is a certainty in her voice that only seems to come out when she's talking about her friend. A hint at that special connection. ] She'll help however she can.

[ Her eyebrows raise at his proposal of their date, but not really a date. Jesse can't help but almost giggle at it. It's a small one, almost stiffled, but it's clear what it is. ]

Alan. That's a date. [ She smiles then. ] We've never gone on a date. Have we?

[ « With everything going on... we've never had one. We've shared things with each other, been intimate, even agreed to have a life together. But... we've never had a date. Like a normal couple. Could we manage it now? I know it's an AWE, but there's so much down time in the day... » ]

Let's get breakfast tomorrow. The two of us. [ Part of her can't believe she's suggesting it. She hasn't been on a date in years. Would he really want to go out with everything going on? ] We can work out what to do next. Have some coffee. Enjoy a meal together.

[ « I... really like the sound of it. Will he? Maybe not. »

She meets him back for a kiss. He seems to like being touched where she's exploring. Maybe because it's been so long since he has? Before all the loops that is. Being trapped in the Dark Place for so long... with just memories of what it was like to talk to people. Be with them. Does he really remember everything from the loops and versions of the story?

Her other hand would move along his side, but she's afraid of accidently touching the bruise there. Instead, she gently slides her fingers up his arm, down his back, then rounds along the waistline of his sweatpants. Ones she thinks he looks good in--relaxed and comfortable.

She breaks from their kiss long enough to lock her eyes onto his again. There's a question in her gaze as her fingers glide along the skin at his hip. Should she keep going? Or, should she reign herself back in for him? She can pull it back--box it up and control it if he needs her to. ]
