[ Well, she's right about one thing, at least in Alan's mind. The responsibility for most everything from the way the story is going to the changes he made to the parts of the story that involved them does lie at his feet. Even if all he did was edit the story that was written by someone else, he still feels as though he has to claim some responsibility for it. After all, Scratch getting out is his fault. Scratch existing is his fault.

But he doesn't want to focus on Scratch, not now. Enough time has been spent on him, and there will surely be more of that as long as he remains a threat. As long as the Dark Presence exists, so does the threat.

If he knew what was going on in Jesse's head, he'd be quick to jump in and interrupt those thoughts that aren't his with counter-arguments. He wants this. He wants to be with her. Even if it's not the wisest thing to do in front of her agents, he wants it. And more importantly, he wants it to be real, not just something that happens in dreams, but something real.

And so he kisses her, softly at first, but growing deeper by the second. She pulls him in further too, and he feels a pleasure sensation forming at the base of his spine. Even when he feels her fingers curling into his beard, that pleased feeling only grows. He's certain that it can't be nice to touch his beard, or to kiss him, given he hasn't cleaned up in who knows how long. But even that isn't enough to cause him to stop. If she isn't stopping, then neither is he. ]

Home. [ He breathes out the word against her lips. ] I'm home when I'm with you. [ The words slide out quickly, breathlessly, but he means them. She's his home. He feels safe when he's with her. And he hopes that she feels the same way about being with him.

There is so much out there that they can't fight against, but Alan knows he would throw everything he has at anything that tried to hurt her or pull them apart. There are, after all, some things worth fighting for. What he has with Jesse is one of those things, and he intends to safeguard it by any means necessary.

He deepens the kiss more, leaning into it just a little more, knowing that at some point, they'll have to break apart. At some point, Jesse will have to resume doing what she does as Director, and Alan will help in whatever capacity they allow him to. But he's not in any rush for that to happen, regardless of what danger may be looming over them all. ]
