She wanted to take him to a citystate without their titles and pretense--to explore a place like the couple she had seen in Kugane. She wanted to do all those things for him, less so herself, so he might finally see things and experience what he has only ever read about. She feels the tears push onto her eyelashes and curls her hands further into fists. She hoped for a time in which they could simply be husband and wife and enjoy one anothers company...
