[ Alphinaud does not hesitate to carefully rest a hand against Alkaid's forearm. If she wishes to pull away from his touch, he will withdraw, of course, but she seems agitated and upset, and he would be too if, say, Alisaie had been tempered. Still, he wishes only to comfort her and to give her what support he can.

Catching sight of the way Alisaie's eyes narrow, Alphinaud shakes his head just slightly. He understands all too well the need to do one's duty and the importance of following through with one's responsibilities, but a part of him believes that they could- they should be able to excuse Alkaid at least this once. Others will certainly agree, but Ser Aymeric has been tempered, and he knows how hard this must be for her.

When his sister pins him with a glance, having spotted the ring on Alkaid's hand, he can only nod, indicating that he knew. ]

I cannot help but think that, at the very least, she might be permitted to miss one meeting. I understand that a great deal hinges upon us and the Warriors of Light both, but K'thisru will be present, and we can make sure that Alkaid is kept up to speed on all that transpires during this meeting.
