The thought slips unbidden into his mind that the armor did not protect him on one unfortunate occasion, but he pushes that thought away as soon as it forms. Now is going to be a happy reunion between them both, and he will not have it ruined by his own lingering uncertainties.

When she returns from placing his armor on the table, he watches as she surveys him and his eyes soften as a gentle smile crosses his face once more. He can see the moment she realizes that he is wearing the protection charm she gave him, and his smile widens even further. ]
