I would think they are too set in their ways and operating as they have been in order to truly listen. Y'shtola now has things she needs to heal from, and Thancred has his own goals that blind him. She is too far into the shadow of her father and her sister to truly see outside of that at the moment.
If anything? She is like Thisru when we left our clan. She has finally seen the world outside the narrow scope she understood it. Everything is new and exciting, and the thrill of it all will sweep her away until something forces her to stay grounded. I rather doubt that it is me.
