[ He does not view her as a child, railing against an unfair world. The world is unfair, and it has been far harder on her and her sister than most. It is not beyond his comprehension that she should be wrestling with the weight of everything that she carries. Had he not done the same earlier this evening? What's more, he still is, but his attentions have shifted from himself onto her, because he would give her all the comfort that he can.

She needs to rest, perhaps even more than he does, if he might be so bold as to assume that. He did not expend tremendous amounts of aether in order to heal a great dragon. As he looks into her eyes and sees the question clearly present there, he nods. She will always have a home with him, whatever the cost to him personally. Others may cast their disapproval and aspersions upon him, but that is not something he is unaccustomed to. Society might have expectations for what is proper, but sometimes, meeting the needs of another is more important than social notions of propriety.

Indeed, he still is less worried about his own reputation and far more concerned with hers. But if it is a place to call home that she longs for, then he will give her one without pause.

When she places her hands about his head and asks that question, again he nods. ]

You may. [ He would never turn down any request of hers, let alone a request such as this. ] But first, please lie down. I can see how tired you are.

[ Again, he is no longer thinking of himself, no matter how much he enjoys sharing kisses with her; concern for her well-being has taken over, pushing everything else away. He will not be selfish when faced with her exhaustion and her upset. ]
