[ mia sits in the middle of the floor in her room at the lake house, text books and cue cards all around her. she still didn't really understand why she needed to get a ged, it wasn't as if it was required for being a sidekick and there wasn't a single time in the real world where she had needed to use trigawhatever. she groans in frustration before leaning back and lying on the floor. why bruce and diana had insisted on this she doesn't understand.

she had texted barry asking if he wanted to come over for pizza - more she had dared him to get new york pizza and then come over. maybe he could help her study. the tutors bruce had hired for her were smart but they were also boring and not the most patient. was it her fault she had to learn how to learn again? mia sighs and grabs some the cue cards and holds them up so she can read them. ]

Ugh, I am never gonna get this.

[ she tosses the cards up in the air and the fall around her like the worst type of confetti. ]

Math. Biology. History. All of them. I haven't been to school since I was 12 and this is just... a lot.

[ she remembers when she first talked to bruce when she had basically forced herself into his life. he had offered to send her to france for school and right now mia wonders if that would have been better or worse than all of this. worse for the fact she wouldn't be the new robin and that wasn't something she was willing to give up for anything. ]

Why do they even make us learn this stuff? When am I gonna need it? And I seriously doubt I'm gonna be locked in a room and forced to solve math problems in a life or death scenario.

[ she rolls over and lies on her stomach, props herself up on her elbows and grabs a piece of pizza. ]

I wish they could just give me a pass for the trick arrows I've been working on.

[ was the fact a robin was into archery, weird? probably. but mia was good at it. really good at it. which led to her messing around with some of bruce's gadgets in an attempt to make them into trick arrows. ]

Right that--that would definitely be a lot. So, lets focus on one and then we'll do the other.

[ that sounds better than trying to fit eight hours of school work down into a few. he properly sits across from her and offers her a slice of the pizza from the box he has. fresh from new york. he's actually surprised the box doesn't melt or de-materialize when he's running. ]

I think it's supposed to be a good baseline? That way, whatever you go into, you have some sort of general idea what to do. Not that they really put the whole superhero thing on the curriculum.
