( Paul isn't the only one plagued with vivid dreams, Rey — or Kira* as she is known by the other members of the Sietch Tabr — has her own dreams that often leave her sleepless and wandering the sietch endlessly. Today is no different; she woke unable to breathe as if the heated desert sands threatened to burn her from the inside out. The sounds of her parents being slaughtered in the distance, their blood spilling onto the sands as she was left to wander the desert as it seemed the Harkonnen men tasked with killing her family couldn't stomach killing a child and left her for the desert to claim her.
Unable to keep and no longer wanting to wander the sietch aimlessly, Rey leaves — finding the perch outside that she enjoys, nestled in an outcropping of stone that offers cool shade even when the sun was at its hottest. By the time Paul arrives — or Usul as Silgar has named him — Rey has been here for hours, watching the spice dance across the sands, glittering as the sun began peeking over the horizon.
She looks down at him; head cocked to the side curiously. While she doesn't remember much of her parents or her childhood, Rey knows she — like Paul and his mother — is an Outworlder, but unlike them, she has been hardened and shaped by the desert, her eyes the piercing blue-within-blue shared by all those who have the Eyes of Ibad. )
It is dangerous to be out at this hour without a Stillsuit. You should head back inside where it is —
( Her voice trails off as her head turns back to the sky, her eyes following a meteorite streaking through the sky, soon followed by another and then another. )
