Perhaps if their lives were different, if he could go off on his own without feeling like he's infringing on Yugi's right to his own life, then maybe he could do such a thing. It wouldn't be much of a sacrifice, not in his eyes, because there's nothing that he wants more than to remain with her.
But that life seems to be distant and all but impossible, at least if things remain the way they are now. And he sees no alternative presenting itself.
